Tom has been involved in a number of original and novel situations:
- twelve sectional handovers in ten months
- first outsourced building design services by PSA – in Portsmouth’s Naval Base
- first management contract by MOD Army – on Salisbury Plain
- initial design and management contract – by Laing for Daily Mail print works
- early Arts Lottery project – for RADA
- original integrated design practice of Architects, Engineers and Surveyors – plus managers with Arup Associates
- Roll out of US TGI Fridays in UK
- first super stores for Next in Newcastle and Exeter
- early dedicated independent PM organisation with Buro Four from 1985
- centres of excellence such as National Tennis Centre, Royal Academy of Art, Cable and Wireless College.
